We hired Annie to design and manage a complete gut job of our mid-century modern home which was originally dark and uncomfortable. I don’t exaggerate when I say she transformed our home into a space that you never want to leave. And she even made the process itself enjoyable. I have worked with several designers over the years and Annie is in a class by herself. She is extremely creative, and generated a vision for the space that was both efficient and completely gorgeous. In addition to her unparalleled design skills, she is also an immensely competent project manager—she provide us with a realistic sense of the budget, and timeline needed for our project. She was also able to fill in the gaps left by my contractor by providing sub-contractors where needed. And, thanks to her critical thinking skills and attentiveness, we avoided several construction crises which were going unnoticed by other workers. She even went to bat for us and helped secure discounts when we did encounter the inevitable hiccups along the way. She was our hero more than once throughout this huge undertaking. She also happens to be a very caring and fun person, of the highest integrity, so we had the added benefit of enjoying her company on a personal level. We’ll definitely hire her again and recommend her highly to all others.
I hired Annie to help with the renovation and interior design of my historic Victorian house in Somerville. This included the complete renovation & design of an unfinished attic into a bedroom suite with bathroom. Throughout the project Annie was personable, patient and informative while presenting creative and innovative ideas for our house. I wanted to work with and retain the historic charm while also adding a more modern feel. Annie was able to bridge the gap between my design interests and the constraints of a historic home. She pushed me out of my comfort zone and I am thrilled with the results.
Annie‘s excellent sensibilities and attentiveness to practical issues and owner preferences helped us create the modern home we wanted, one that is also warm and comfortable. She has a good balance of assertive skills and receptivity, and developed the project from the bottom up so that it is particularly suited to our individual home/style. She was very flexible with meeting times and responsive to schedules. The project included painting, wallpaper, lighting, furniture and rug selection for all the rooms in our 2-bedroom home.
Working with Annie Hall was a very positive experience. She had suggestions we would never have thought of ourselves that were very helpful. She always came with a a good selection of choices but not too many as to be confusing. We appreciated that she was careful to continuously get our input along the way. All the contractors were professional, punctual and tidy and held themselves up to high standards. Annie clearly has very good working relationships with them. The custom pieces she designed are of exceptional quality and her decorating choices, the details, really transformed our house. We are so happy with all of it.
I have been a professional drapery installer in the Boston area for over 35 years, I have worked with Annie Hall for the last 3 or so.
Annie has become one of my favorite designers to work with for her professionalism, attention to detail, and the quality of her work and design.
The project we just completed was loaded with challenges, but she met them all with her clients interest and satisfaction first and foremost. I met with her client today and she told me how happy she was with everything we had done.
One of the things that I value in a designer is the relationships they build with their clients, and Annie does just that.
I have only positives to say about her.
I had a wonderful experience with Annie. My husband and I bought our first house recently, which we loved, but the colors were horrible. I hired Annie to consult on paint colors. Annie went through my entire house with me, providing feedback on colors. She has an impeccable eye and was also very responsive to my taste. We have had a chance to repaint the first floor so far, and the results are magnificent. It’s a whole different house! I’m looking forward to completing the painting, and then bringing Annie back to help with decorating!
We worked with Annie during a major renovation of our circa–1880 Queen Anne house in Cambridge, MA. Annie helped us with furniture, oriental rugs, fabrics, paint colors, and wallpapers — she also acted as a trusted adviser for other design questions as we worked with our architect & our contractor. As a result, we could not be happier in our “new” home!
Annie has a very good eye, and collaborated with us to find pieces and make design choices that worked within our budget, including the design of a dining room built-in that we plan to have built in the next phase of our project.
We hired Annie to design and decorate a Master Bedroom Suite and to consult on interior decor for our living room, family room and dining areas in our 100 year old English Tudor home. It was a pleasure to work with Annie. She met with us and took the time to develop a plan that not only reflected our personal taste and budget but also incorporated her own ideas into the plans, creating a classic look that holds true to the age and character of our home. We are very happy with the results that Annie achieved. Our family and friends are in awe of the transformation. Annie is a great person, very creative and easy to work with.
I hired Annie for interior design of my small Cambridge home. I really didn’t think it could be beautiful and sophisticated given the challenges of the small spaces, awkward room shapes and the need to accommodate a huge dog. Her solutions are pure genius!! The resulting design is highly livable and dog friendly, but is also polished and distinctive.
While a talented and creative designer, Annie is also a consummate professional and a pleasure to work with. She is organized, dependable, timely, and communicates clearly and promptly. I found her to be especially talented in walking the fine line of truly listening to my needs, wants and ideas, but also helping me evolve my tastes and consider options that were at the boundaries of my comfort zone. I feel I grew in this collaborative process. She never pushes or dictates choices. Her work is truly brilliant.
Annie helped me conceptualize space in several rooms and came up with creative ideas to use it better and make it beautiful. Her calm respectful presence and great sense of style were evident immediately. As our project unfolded I was continually impressed by the way she stayed on top of the myriad details and followed through on all aspects. We are very happy with the finished product.
I hired Annie Hall Interiors to help with furnishings and finishes for my Dining Room and Living Room. Annie was very professional, organized and detailed-oriented. She was also warm and fun to work with. She helped me choose furniture, light fixtures, window treatments, wallpaper, paint colors, artwork and accessories.
She listened to my ideas, incorporated the existing pieces I wanted to keep into the design, understood my style, and helped transform my home into a beautiful and relaxing space.
She knew I was mindful of budget. She picked out at least four options at different price points for every piece. She gave me excellent suggestions and great guidance when I was having trouble making up my mind. I appreciated that she wasn’t afraid to be candid when she knew something I suggested would not work well into the overall design concept. And yet, she was always respectful of my basic taste and lifestyle. As a busy working professional, I knew I could trust Annie to shop and show me suggestions that I would like.
After working with Annie, I feel my house now truly reflects my personal style without sacrificing any functionality. I would highly recommend her for any project, large or small. She has great taste, is extremely professional and a pleasure to work with.
Annie came in the middle of a renovation project and based on the description of what I thought my apartment should reflect for mine and my family’s lifestyle, she quickly came up with a plethora of options that made the decision process very easy. She had a great vision, even making recommendations to the general contractor who had been on the job for several months about attributes related to lighting and architectural design. She works with a reputable group of craftspeople, and as a friend of mine stated who also decided to work with her, she gets stuff done. Annie has helped to make my apartment a home, and I highly recommend her.
I have been working with Annie Hall Interiors on and off for the past 6 years as I have been remodeling my Cambridge Victorian home. Annie is amazing, always bringing in new ideas with rich colors and fabrics that have totally transformed my home from a dark traditional old Victorian into a modern, light, and inspiring environment. Guests always tell me that while my house looks like it should be on the cover of a designer magazine, every space feels totally comfortable and inviting - like people actually live in it! I adore Annie, and highly recommend her!
Anne did a great job helping us renovate our house. She urged us to try colors we would never have dreamed of, and they are beautiful! She encouraged us to look at furniture and lighting fixtures that were appropriate to our Victorian era house but also ones that were more contemporary that fit well too. Anne went with me to the a Design Center to help select carpets and her expertise was evident with the considerations of color, weave, fiber, and texture were all taken into consideration.
Annie Hall interiors is the highest caliber professional, whom tirelessly works to find the best suited finishes for her clients. Annie thinks through every decision thoroughly and incorporates how you use your home into her design. She listens to the client, works collaboratively with you, has impeccable taste, and finds joy in seeing the design to completion. Annie is a pleasure to work with and I would recommend her unequivocally.
I have used Annie Hall Interiors twice in the past 10 years and have found them to be exceptional Courteous, listen well, offer reasonable solutions and ideas within a budget. All that one could hope for. I especially appreciate not throwing a ton of ideas at me that don’t match my life style nor my stated preference. Listens well, responsive to emails and on time appointments.
I have nothing but the highest recommendation.
Annie did phenomenol work helping me with a gut remodel of my home. I hired her at the very begininning of the project when initial design concepts were being considered. She took the architect’s conceptual drawings, altered them a bit, and came up with brilliant design solutions. She offered key input with the exterior window placement and size, siding material, and deck design, as well as the lay-out, finishes and materials for the interior. She is a first-rate professional with an incredible eye and feel for what makes a place warm, welcoming, and eye-popping stunning! It was a great pleasure working with her.
Annie is a delight to work with. I initially hired her to design window treatments and then in time, moved on to rugs, paint, fabric (for pillows) and furniture. Her strength as a designer comes from her ability to listen to the client. From the start, she really got to know me and my tastes before making suggestions. When she presented options (fabric samples or photos of furniture), she always gave me time to express myself. She never just jumped in and said, “I think you should go with this one.” She did, however, help me when I was waffling between a couple of options. I found that through conversations with her, I was able to better focus in on what I was looking for. The process was always interesting and enjoyable and I never felt pressured.
Annie is incredibly prompt with emails, phone calls and written proposals. You never have to wait on her. She is very organized and budgets her time quite well. She also communicates regularly with updates on delivery times, etc. Her billing is fair, clear and timely.
Best of all, I love my place! I have never felt like my surroundings reflected my taste and personality more than they do now.
We worked on our first project with Annie last year in the Back Bay and at the time didn’t know much about her except that she has the most fascinating, smallest , satellite office building in Cambridge. A must see! But don’t let the size of her satellite office fool you. She is a HUGE talent! We were totally blown away by her. The interiors she created are perfectly thought out, magazine worthy but comforting and livable. Her use of color, shapes, textures and light are wonderful! We had very challenging windows to treat with shutters and with Annies help we made it work.
We have worked for Annie Hall Interiors on several projects in the Boston area and also down in the Cape Cod area. What strikes me the most is her modern taste and ability to pull together several different elements and colors and make all of them work in harmony in any room.
She also has business skills that most Interior Designers don’t: she is very good at following up with clients and vendors, which helps to get the project done on time and without mistakes.
One last thing: she has hired me for my biggest residential project ever since I’ve started my company six years ago. A property with over 200+ windows!
Dear Annie,
I, again, wish to thank you for putting up, without a glance, at my indecisiveness. How sweet of you.The sofa is looking most stunning without the Bloomingdale rug. Yeah!
Please buy something pretty for your Jake from me.
With best wishes.
Until we again meet,
